God Provides!

Admit it. When you hear the phrase “God provides!”, what immediately comes to mind is finances, right?

While it is true that God provides for all our practical needs, isn’t it the case also that God can choose to provide in other ways?

Courage. When you receive the ability to stand up against the immoral practices of your company at the risk of losing your job.

Hope. When your funds are depleting but your optimism is overflowing.

Companionship. When what you lack in money is more than made up for by your wealth of relationships.

Endurance. When giving up never crossed your mind.

Peace. When worry had no place in your mind and heart despite the uncertainties of the future.

Love. When the coldness of the world is overwhelmed by the warmth of your friendships.

When you limit that phrase “God provides” within the realm of what’s practical, you can miss out on what God is doing for you in the “spiritual”.

Surely, God can easily provide for your financial needs. But if He does that all the time, how then can you experience the other facets and graces of His provision?

In 2008, when my family went through financial troubles, it was then when I appreciated how God gave me the grace to smile in the midst of my worries, the courage to do what needs to be done, and the faith to trust in the bountiful future that awaits me even before any sign of this promise was evident. As I always say, I will never trade that year for any period in my Christian life because it was in that year when I realized a timeless truth: God will provide what you need.

If you need faith, God will give you an opportunity to trust.

If you need patience, God will give you an opportunity to wait.

If you need humility, God will give you an opportunity to submit.

As stated in scriptures:

“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

Don’t be fixated in the financial provision of God. His provision comes in various packages because he wants to meet, not just your financial, but “all” your needs.

Be sensitive, therefore, to His movement. You don’t want to miss out on the many ways through which God provides!

In Christ,
