Dialogue between baby in mother’s womb and God…
Child of God: Dear Lord, thank you for this wonderful place I am in. It’s so cozy, so warm and so comfortable. You are indeed a wise and loving Creator!
God: Child, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Do not be contented with where you are. I have prepared so much more for you…for your enjoyment, for your pleasure and for your growth. In less than nine months, you shall come out from where you are and see what I have prepared for you…
Child of God: I am scared, God. I prefer this cozy place more than anywhere else. Can I just remain here?
God: Dear Child, if you stay where you are, you will miss so much of what I have in store for you. Trust me. I am bringing you to a place beyond your imagination.
Child of God: If you say so, Lord, I will obey…
And so the baby comes out from his mother’s womb and into the world. To his great joy, he sees a beautiful world filled with all sorts of shapes and colors so much more animated and alive compared to the dark womb from which he came.
Child of God: Lord, you are correct. This is a much better place. More than the wonderful sights, the best of all are the people…most especially my parents. O to be loved and to love! Such great blessing to be part of humankind!
Years passed and the baby grows up to adulthood. He went through the exciting phases of growth together with all joys as well as the pains of each phase. School. Career. Marriage. Family. Old age. Sickness.
Then death comes knocking at his door.
The child of God converses with the Father yet again.
Child of God: Father God, I am scared. I don’t want to leave this world and all its “amenities”. I love life despite all its struggles. I don’t want to leave my family and friends. They all mean the world to me.
God: O dear child, if only you know what awaits you beyond this life. You ain’t seen nothing yet. Death is not a blank wall but an open door. It brings you in, not out. It brings you TO and not AWAY from home. It introduces you, not to a curse, but to an inheritance. This world that you see now, with all its beauty as well as imperfections, is a poor copy of that which lies beyond the grave. A beautiful world awaits you, my child. Come, let us go…
Child of God: If you say so, Father. I will trust and obey…
As he breathes his last, his body dies but his spirit becomes more alive. It crosses the threshold and walks into the Light. His eyes widened as he gazes at the spectacle before him.
“Indeed,” the happy soul speaks. “The Father was right. Heaven is beyond all imagination!” Then, as if re-energized by an unseen force, the Spirit breaks into a sprint with arms open wide as he welcomes his heavenly inheritance.
Indeed, what scripture says is true: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Dear friend, God knows best.
Sometimes, we prefer to stay where it is comfortable and cozy. But if we insist to remain where we are, we are depriving ourselves of what God has in store for us. When God asks you to move in life — may it be in terms of career, residency, service, or health — it is because He wants to bless you even more. Sure, it will be inconvenient and sometimes even very painful, but it is the way to a better place where we become more blessed and a greater blessing.
As scripture says: “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)
When God asks you to move outside of your “comfort zone”, he actually asks you to move into His “blessing zone”. So obey. Trust. Believe.
There is so much more in store for you!
